On Saturday 8th September, 1st Owlsmoor Scout Group visited Brookwood Military Cemetery near Woking. The Scouts, Cubs and Beavers learnt how the Commonwealth War Graves Commission remembers the 5,000 servicemen and women buried and commemorated in the UK's largest Commonwealth war cemetery.
Along with a tour of the cemetery and 'Ask the Experts', all the Scouts, Cubs and Beavers had great fun leaning from the stone masons how to engrave a headstone! I am sure that when Poppy Day comes around this year all the young people will remember this visit.
