Our summer weekend camp took place at Walton Firs campsite in Cobham where new Scouts were introduced to the basics of a Scout camp and the older Scouts were encouraged to lead activities for the others.
The Scouts took part in air rifle shooting, caving, stove cooking, pioneering, photo orienteering and camp fire, plus new cooking techniques were tried such as cooking an omelette in a bag. Other planned activities, such as cooking on an open fire, had to be postponed due to the weather.
Even though the camp was a very wet one (one Scout tent needed to be sponged out after the first night!), it went very well and the Scouts all enjoyed themselves.
